Engineering Manager, Member Lifecycle

Vinted, UAB
7083 - 9583 €/m Gross
Occasional remote work possibility

Job Description

We’re looking for 2 Engineering Managers to join our Member Lifecycle (MLC) domain. MLC owns three core areas: Member Engagement and Communication, New Member Acquisition, and General Vinted Content Capabilities.

This role focuses on Member Engagement and Communication - ensuring our members receive relevant, timely, and valuable communication across 20+ markets. In this area, our platforms power billions of touchpoints each month across email, push, inbox notifications, and in-app messages.

As an Engineering Manager in this space, you will lead a fully autonomous, cross-functional team. Depending on your strengths and interests, you will take ownership of one of our core communication platform streams:

  • Braze Team: Leading the full integration, scalability, and technical direction of Braze at Vinted. You will integrate Braze with internal tools (including AI capabilities and localisation), manage our external vendor relationship, and enable Marketing and Research teams to execute targeted, high-impact lifecycle communications.
  • Vinted CRM (VCRM) Team: Leading our scalable in-house messaging platform and touchpoint architecture. You will drive consent management (how members opt in/out across markets in alignment with Legal and Compliance), define communication quality standards, and build smarter send rules that cut noise, eliminate spam, and ensure messages stay relevant.

Together, we protect members from irrelevant communication while empowering teams across Vinted to reach them effectively and drive marketplace growth.

  • Platform & Delivery Ownership: Own the delivery and evolution of critical communication platforms powering millions of members in 20+ markets. Align roadmaps with key stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Legal/Compliance, and external partners.
  • People & Team Leadership: Grow, mentor, and retain an autonomous, high-performing team of engineers. Foster a healthy, high-trust engineering culture where people thrive and do their best work.
  • Engineering Excellence: Set and uphold high standards of technical direction, system resilience, and engineering quality across all deliverables.
  • Deliver on commitments and key results, reporting on them transparently: flag risks early with a dated path to green.
  • Turn ambiguous or complex situations into actionable proposals: frame the options, recommend a direction, and drive decisions with clear timelines.
  • Lead the technical strategy and roadmap within your team, finding innovative ways to maximise the value and scalability of our messaging ecosystem.
  • Partner with Product, Analytics, and Data Science to foster a strong culture of experimentation, using data and test results to guide decisions.
  • Work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders, including Marketing, other product teams, Legal, and external technology partners.
  • Keep processes lightweight, pragmatic, and outcome-oriented, applying Agile and Lean principles where they genuinely help.
  • Support your team's personal and professional growth through coaching, regular feedback, and performance and compensation reviews.
  • Build and maintain a high-trust team culture where engineers embrace healthy debate, hold each other accountable, and take collective ownership of results.
  • Collaborate with Engineering leads across Vinted to drive continuous improvements across the wider engineering organisation.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership track record: Experience leading software engineering teams and consistently delivering impactful results.
  • Predictable delivery & scoping: Skilled at managing scope, establishing trade-offs, and setting priorities hand-in-hand with Product.
  • People-first mentorship: Demonstrated experience in hiring, scaling teams, and developing engineers through structured coaching, candid feedback, and career development.
  • Clear communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, comfortable presenting proposals and aligning with engineers, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Decisiveness & ownership: You bring proposals rather than just raising problems, and you're comfortable driving decisions forward.
  • Data-driven mindset: Experience leveraging experimentation, user metrics, and working alongside analysts or data scientists to inform technical and product direction.
  • Domain expertise (Strong advantage): Experience with Braze, in-house CRM architectures, marketing automation, or large-scale messaging/notification systems. Experience managing vendor relationships is a plus.
  • Pragmatic with modern tech: Comfortable working with modern tooling, including evaluating where AI features add real value and where they do not.
  • Adaptability: Resilient, flexible, and comfortable navigating shifting business priorities.
