Perlas Network takes care of more than 2000 terminals around Lithuania. Currently, the system is owned by IGT and they are also looking after Perlas’ system development, maintenance, integration with partner systems and functionality expansion. Front IT is assisting Perlas Network with this large scale project and planning to take the system functionality to the next level.
Until now, the system was taken care of by a large corporation in the United States – IGT (Gtech). One of the reasons Front IT is taking the ownership of the system – the ability to advance its technological state and functionality and further develop it.
Front IT is creating a Java department that would be able to take full control of the code and ownership.
Initial technological stack
Java Enterprise Edition 1.6
Various frameworks such as:
DB2 (10.5.7) Database.
Organizational structure and the team:
The Java department will be reporting to the Portfolio Manager and will have a direct connection with the client (Perlas Network) and the team (IGT Corporation) that took care of the system until now (they will provide a plan and the technology transfer as well). A potential candidate will be responsible for building the team as well. Initial plan is to hire 2-3 Java developers that would be working with him/her on the project. There are plans to increase the team size to 6 in the future

Taking over the system from IGT corporation,
