Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer

We’re looking for a Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer to take ownership of our backend systems and help shape the technical direction of the team. You’ve worked on production systems, made architectural decisions, and understood what it means to build something that runs and scales. You don’t just follow tickets. You think about how things should be built, spot problems early, and come with solutions. You’ve supported or mentored other engineers and care about raising the overall quality of the team.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems (Ruby on Rails)
• Take ownership of systems in production
• Make architectural decisions and improve system design
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar on code quality
• Define best practices and engineering standards
• Work closely with Product, QA, and the team

• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails and backend development
• Experience owning production systems at scale
• Experience making architectural decisions (APIs, data models, system design)
• Experience mentoring or leading other engineers
• Solid understanding of:
• OOP and design patterns
• event-driven architecture
• A proactive mindset - you bring solutions, not just questions

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or regulated environments
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with Docker, microservices, CI/CD
• Experience solving scaling challenges or system migrations
