Job Description

Backed by significant and increasing investments, Marketing is the primary driver of our platform's growth, accelerating our progress toward Vinted's mission of making second-hand the first choice worldwide.

As a Manager within the Marketing Data Science and Analytics team, you'll lead a team of Data Scientists and Decision Scientists. You will help improve our in-house measurement framework covering attribution, media-mix, lifetime value modelling, experimentation and advanced long-term effect measurement. The problems are technically complex, and they directly inform decisions on how we spend our marketing budget.

Alongside the measurement framework, you will ensure the scalability of our models and analytics with a strong focus on using AI to speed up development and improve quality.

You'll report to the domain's Director of Data Science & Analytics, who'll support your technical and leadership growth.

In this position, you’ll

  • Lead the team: manage, mentor and grow 4-6 Decision Scientists and Data Scientists, covering planning, onboarding, career development, performance reviews, and feedback culture.
  • Own measurement strategy: lead improvements to attribution, media-mix, lifetime value modelling and long-term effect measurement.
  • Build for scale: make advanced measurement repeatable and self-service, using modern AI tools to help the team build better models and work faster.
  • Stay close to the work: dedicate part of your time to our most complex, high-impact projects, both as a sparring partner and hands-on where needed.
  • Work cross-functionally: partner with Growth Marketing, Brand Marketing, Member Engagement Marketing and Marketing Data Science & Analytics to turn data and models into actions and budget decisions.

Requirements

  • Curious, with a strong drive to learn and improve.
  • Collaborative, open to feedback, and comfortable giving it directly.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritise with limited resources.
  • Quantitative background - Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Maths, Computer Science or similar.
  • Enough technical depth to challenge and act as a strong sparring partner for senior ICs on measurement and causal inference - comfortable enough with our stack (Python, SQL, GCP/BigQuery, Looker) to follow and question the work, not necessarily build it yourself.
  • Experience with causal inference methods (e.g. CausalImpact, synthetic controls, matching).
  • Good understanding of statistics and statistical modelling.
  • Several years in a quantitative or analytics role, including experience leading or managing a team.
  • Able to explain complex statistical concepts clearly to senior, non-technical stakeholders.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator.

Nice to have

  • Bonus: Experience with Marketing Analytics, Media Mix Modelling and Bayesian Statistics.

Company offers

  • The opportunity to benefit from our share options programme
  • 25 working days of holiday
  • Access to all the tools & tech needed for work
  • Home office support: we provide IT workstation equipment and a personal budget of up to 6540 for home workplace furniture

  • A dog-friendly office
  • A monthly lunch allowance, and a once-a-week provided in-house lunch and breakfast
