Platform Operations Specialist

As a Platform Operations Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of Nasdaq's trading systems and market operations.

• Monitor production systems in real time, identify emerging issues, and troubleshoot software, hardware, and capacity problems to maintain uptime and performance.
• Support daily market operations, including system startup and shutdown procedures, application updates, and recovery processes.
• Collaborate with clients, network providers, and internal teams to resolve connectivity and technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Maintain operational documentation and procedures to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Partner with developers and engineering teams to address operational challenges and implement scalable solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field / equivalent practical experience in data center, trading, or network operations.
• Several years of experience in technical operations, system administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrable understanding of Linux environments, including administration and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and containerization or scripting tools.
• Certifications relevant to systems operations or infrastructure management.
