Serves as main advisor to the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), and wider Embassy on all activities related to its representational and ceremonial duties and is a primary liaison for the Front Office with host country authorities, other diplomatic missions, and other institutions on invitations, diplomatic notes, and other protocol matters. Plans, coordinates, and organizes Mission representational functions, including all meals and events hosted by the Ambassador and DCM and coordinates with residence staff as appropriate. Provides advice and guidance to all levels of mission staff, including local employees, on protocol matters including advising on appropriate dress for official events, gifts and flowers for official guests and events, seating based on ranks and titles, etc. Manages incoming and outgoing gifts on behalf of the Ambassador and DCM; develops and maintains a wide range of contacts with officials and businesses of the host country. Assists the Ambassador and DCM with related logistics like VAT receipts and reservations. Assists in planning and organizing the annual U.S. national day celebration.
Requirements:
All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a security certificate.
All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Education Requirements:
At least two (2) years of college or university studies.

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum three years of progressively responsible administrative or related experience is required, at least one year of which should have been in protocol and/or other administrative work in a government agency.
Language: Fluent (speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate) knowledge of English and Lithuanian is required.
Skills and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of host country protocol guidelines; familiarity with host country political, social, cultural, and business scene; a working knowledge of regional history and leading personalities in host country and knowledge of American social norms.
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with high and lower-level official contacts and colleagues. Flexibility and adaptability in managing tasks. Must be able to plan work independently and set priorities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce, or other contact management system. Excellent computer skills and attention to detail. Ability to edit and format documents quickly. Familiarity with event planning.
