Senior QA Engineer

Job Description

Define and execute automated test cases, test plans, and test scripts for SAP SuccessFactors, Workday modules, or other related HR applications focusing on functionality, integration, and regression testing

  • Execute integration testing across HR systems, ensuring accurate data flow between platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Drive E2E testing spanning multiple components (UI, services, data stores, ETL jobs, events/queues) and validate key HR workflows (recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, time, talent)
  • Perform API and backend testing to validate data integrity and system interactions
  • Create and manage test plans, test cases, and executions using JIRA (preferably with Xray)
  • Defect tracking and reporting
  • Document and share knowledge using Confluence
  • Design, build, and maintain robust test automation frameworks and scripts using JavaScript‑based with Playwright, and Java with TestNG; promote code quality through design patterns, code reviews, and quality gates
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), enabling shift-left testing, parallelization, test flakiness control, and reporting dashboards
  • Execute database testing using advanced SQL queries, focusing on data mapping, transformations, and calculations
  • Work closely with development, product, and integration teams to identify issues and drive resolution
  • Provide actionable insights for continuous improvement in testing processes
  • Adapt to evolving testing requirements driven by business priorities across diverse platforms and products
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate QA and AI-driven test automation to boost coverage, speed, and reliability: LLM-assisted test case generation, automated test data creation, anomaly/defect prediction, self-healing locators, autonomous test execution
  • Track and communicate quality metrics/KPIs (coverage, escape rate, flakiness) and drive continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use

Requirements

  • 10+ years in SDET roles with deep experience in test automation and complex integration testing within HR platforms
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript) for UI and backend test automation, including Playwright MCP, self-healing locator strategies, and advanced framework design. Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, reusable code and drive improvements in test stability, scalability, and automation best practices
  • Expertise in GitHub branching strategies and workflow management, including feature branching, pull request reviews, and CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot
  • Java coding experience with TestNG and Cucumber BDD; comfort switching between JavaScript/TypeScript and Java
  • Hands-on experience with Workday and/or SAP SuccessFactors
  • Proficiency in API testing using Postman and automation frameworks; experience with REST (GraphQL is a plus)
  • Advanced SQL for database testing, data validation, and reconciliation across systems
  • Experience with Jira (preferably Xray for test management), Confluence, Git/GitHub
  • Hands-on experience with AI platforms and tools (e.g., Copilot Studio), including building AI agents, combined with a strong willingness to learn and apply AI-driven testing strategies. Open to introducing innovative ideas such as leveraging AI for automated test generation, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics to enhance QA processes
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, branching strategies, and code review practices
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and exceptional communication and stakeholder collaboration
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS or similar)
  • Experience with Excel-based data analysis and reporting

  • Experience with performance testing (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
