Job Description

We are looking for a colleague, who would join our Ignitis Renewables team as an Energy Yield Assessment Specialist, you will play a critical role in evaluating and forecasting the energy output of our onshore wind projects. Your key areas of responsibilities will be: 

  • Conduct energy yield assessments for onshore wind farms under the development to estimate the potential energy production under varying wind conditions and turbine performance 
  • Analyze meteorological data, including wind speed, direction, and turbulence, to develop accurate models for energy production forecasts 
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools to simulate wind farm performance and evaluate the impact of different wind turbine layouts and technologies 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, data analysts, and project developers, to integrate energy yield assessments into the overall project design and financial models 
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis to identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact the project's energy output and financial performance 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental requirements related to energy yield assessments 
  • Maintain your knowledge of the field and introduce innovations to improve our approach. 

Requirements

  • Hold a degree in renewable energy, engineering, physics, meteorology, or a related field
  • Bring familiarity with meteorological data analysis and expertise in wind resource assessment methodologies
  • Possess training and hands-on experience with relevant software for energy yield assessments (e.g., WindPRO, WAsP, Openwind, Windfarmer, or similar)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of wind turbine technology, onshore wind farm design, and layout optimization
  • Embrace an analytical mindset, showcasing exceptional problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and accuracy
  • Exhibit effective communication and presentation abilities
  • Thrive working independently while also contributing collaboratively to a team environment
  • Showcase proficiency in the English language
