Job Description

As the Decision Scientist in the Item Engagement team within the Buyer domain, you will be responsible for leading the analytical side of a cross-functional team focused on maximizing buyer conversion and engagement on the item details page. The Buyer domain currently consists of six product teams: Discovery & Rediscovery, Search & Refinement, Item Engagement, Recommender Relevance, Search Relevance and Content Visibility Management. Together, these teams work to improve the purchasing experience for Vinted members and help them find relevant items as easily as possible.

In this role, you will collaborate with a Product Manager and other team members to develop and analyse the impact of new and existing features and methods, such as AI Shopping Assistant and High Demand badge. You will also help uncover new focus areas for the team and lead analytical discovery efforts.

In addition, you will be part of the Buyer Decision Scientists group, which collaborates each quarter on technical improvements, broader domain-level analyses, and the adoption of new technical capabilities. You will also take part in the Vinted-wide Data Science and Analytics guild, which regularly organises knowledge-sharing sessions and offsites.

  • Partner with your cross-functional team and stakeholders at Vinted to identify strategic opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Test and analyse developed opportunities to validate their value and understand their business impact using statistical methods and visualisation tools.
  • Select, calculate and monitor your team’s key performance indicators, proactively flagging issues, running analyses and identifying root causes.
  • Enable your team and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights through self-service dashboards and AI.
  • Contribute to a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in analytics and decision-making to make data count.
  • Ensure that new business initiatives are reviewed through the lens of a Decision Scientist and demonstrated to be impactful.

Requirements

  • Highly oriented toward business results and able to act as a multiplier for others.
  • Strong communicator who can present results in an informative and persuasive manner to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience as a Decision Scientist, Data Analyst or Data Scientist.
  • Experience with A/B testing and product development.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one statistical programming language (Python, R, Scala, etc.)
  • Proficient in SQL and experienced with dashboarding tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • You are passionate about applying AI to data analytics and excited to use intelligent tools and techniques to uncover insights, improve decision-making and solve real-world business problems.
  • University degree in statistics, econometrics, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
