Engineering Manager, Trust & Safety

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Trust & Safety domain. The domain focuses on preventing malicious behaviour, fraud, abuse, scams, and policy violations, while building scalable systems that protect users, brands and support a seamless experience.

The domain brings together 8 cross-functional teams across software engineering, data and decision science, design, and product, all working together to build and evolve machine learning powered systems that detect malicious content, enforce policies, and keep the platform safe. A key focus of this role will be leading an engineering team dedicated to building system for malicious content detection using image recognition and machine learning technologies.

In this position, you’ll

• Own end-to-end delivery and stakeholder management, leading agile execution and ensuring alignment, clear reporting, and successful outcomes across teams
• Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous development
• Drive engineering excellence across resilience, stability, scalability, developer experience, and quality
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data to align on priorities, support experimentation, and deliver impactful, data-informed solutions
• Shape and deliver features that make Vinted’s detection product best-in-class
• Lead initiatives in counterfeit and malicious content prevention, building scalable solutions in a greenfield space
• Execute roadmap, OKRs, and delivery plans to effectively reduce user harm and platform abuse at scale
• Collaborate with Engineering leadership to drive continuous improvement and elevate the broader organization

• You have proven experience leading and growing high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced product environment
• You have strong people management skills, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and team development
• You are able to lead cross-team delivery and drive execution in collaboration with Product, Design, Analytics, and other stakeholders
• You have a solid engineering background and are able to guide technical decision-making, foster engineering excellence, and support scalable system design
• You have experience leading teams working on ML-powered products and are familiar with ML systems, experimentation, and ML engineering practices in production
• You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and are able to align different functions around shared goals
• You have a strong business and product mindset, and are able to connect technical work to customer and company impact
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Is a plus if You have experience with retrieval, ranking, classification, or recommendation systems, and ideally with applied AI/ML use cases such as image recognition, computer vision, or trust and safety domains
