Officer for monitoring the 2030 Agenda (m/f)

We are looking for you:

Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) your expertise to build the capacities needed for monitoring the 2030 Agenda. The Kyrgyz Government has already initiated important political dialogue processes that address monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One step has involved setting up a coordination committee responsible for adapting, implementing and monitoring the SDGs until 2030. This committee is charged with coordinating the measures being carried out by state institutions, donors and other executing agencies. The task of implementing the committee’s decisions has been transferred to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy, which is responsible for developing and executing state policies in the area of economics and sustainable development.

Your tasks will involve:

  • Working out an action plan for the country-specific adaptation of SDGs
  • Providing support in establishing a cross-sectoral system for monitoring sustainable development, including data infrastructure and processes
  • Facilitating the process of adapting sectoral statistics to meet specific reporting requirements
  • Establishing political dialogue between public authorities on implementing innovative reporting approaches for the SDGs
  • Providing support in creating a strategy document addressing the transition to a green economy
  • Extension cooperation with the national statistics committee

Your profile:

  • A university degree in economics or a comparable area of study that enables you to perform your tasks
  • Several years of experience in international projects in the area of economic, social and strategic planning
  • Experience in developing and implementing national strategy documents, and ideally in statistical analyses
  • Well-founded conceptual knowledge about the green economy and the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Very good command of English, ideally Russian
