Job Description

The Production Engineer-Mechanic will join our Production Engineering team, which is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the machinery used in the production of electric heaters. The candidate will play a pivotal role in both the planned maintenance and prompt response to equipment breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regular maintenance, coordinate repairs, and uphold the technical standards of production equipment.
  • Execute planned equipment maintenance and respond to breakdowns with adept fault finding and repairs.
  • Manage provisioning of spare parts, place orders, and develop plans for production and maintenance.
  • Lead the selection, procurement, testing, and commissioning of new production equipment.
  • Prepare project documentation for equipment, including detailed drawings and designs as required.
  • Fabricate metal components and provide installation and general site services.
  • Maintain excellent working knowledge of industrial health and safety systems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and demonstrate strong ownership of tasks to ensure safe and timely resolution of issues.
  • Exhibit adaptability, continually seeking improvement in the maintenance and operation of equipment.

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Five years of relevant industrial experience, preferably in a similar production environment.
  • Time-served mechanical engineer with hands-on experience maintaining, installing, and modifying equipment.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, for technical drafting.
  • Good 'hands-on' experience of metal fabrication and involvement in a call-out system.
  • Very good English skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with PLCs and inverters.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Clean driving license and ability to take strong ownership of tasks.
  • Prepared to engage in a call-out system for critical maintenance needs.
