Work collaboratively with the third party consultant responsible for transaction processing, third party accounting firm and members of the finance/operational team to obtain an understanding of what has been performed to date,
Develop an understanding of the Xero cloud-based accounting application and what has been recorded to date,
Obtain support for transactions posted since inception back to third party supporting documentation (e.g. signed SLA’s, bank statements, pharmacist invoices, timesheets, receipts for expense claims, etc.),
Complete balance sheet reconciliations from inception, and monthly once brought to current,
Ensure appropriate P&L classification between revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses and non-operating income/expense,
Ensure appropriate cash application of cash received to invoices,
Confirm the accuracy and completeness of the gross profit financial metric used for the one- and two-year earn-out calculation,
Document processes, policies and procedures for revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts,
Coordinate with the payroll provider (third party accounting firm) and McKesson payroll support center to support the transition of payroll from the third party accounting firm,
Record journal entries to reflect the transactions that have been recorded once sufficient support has been obtained and documented,
Prepare statutory financial statements, compile sufficent support for external audit purposes and respond to auditor questions,
Provide regular progress reports to management, including recommended courses of action for management to consider,
Prepare payments by requesting disbursements and verifying documentation.
Requirements
University degree / BSc in Economics or Business Administration with major in accounting, finance,
3+ years of proven knowledge of finance and accounting processes,
Experience in General Accounting processes in a complex and international business environment - month end closes, preparation of P&L, B/S and cash flow statements as well as financial statements,
Experience with stock accounting would be an advantage,
Strong project management skills,
Self-driven, project manager, collaborator,
Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
