Team Manager in Middleware and Hosting Platform Services

Job Description

We are looking for a Team Manager with both HR responsibility and delivery responsibility. The manager must ensure coordination, communication and continuous improvement within the team and has to be able to motivate, encourage and inspire the team members.

The Team Manager is responsible for achieving the team goals and objectives as well as looking after the portfolio.

Focus Area 

  • Management of own portfolio and tasks aligned with department’s goals and objectives
  • Securing optimal planning, prioritisation and coordination within own team
  • Responsible for the team’s deliveries  and quality
  •  Ensuring that the necessary operation agreements and documentations are established
  • HR management of own team including active involvement in recruitment, retention, development and termination of these
  • Development of employees, including ensuring the right compositions, competencies and joint working foundation
  • Motivation and empowerment of the team to achieve their goals and objectives and proactively address obstacles for your employees face
  • Engagement with stakeholders and other teams globally
  • Conducting status review meetings with team members
  • Timely management of deliveries and escalations if necessary
  • Ability to work in a global team as well as individually
  • Optimise and automate team’s operational tasks

Requirements

  • An IT professional background, and a strong knowledge of one or more platforms, like: Windows; Linux; Power; zOS.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of leading a team of 5+ people
  • A good understanding of different reference architectures (infrastructure and application components)
  • Knowledge about Data Centre setup and IT security principles as well as the ITIL standards
  • Experience with designing and operating IT infrastructure platforms, and a fundamental about how IT platforms can be setup for handling various application types
  • A service mind-set and a focus on seamlessly managing deliveries from different technical towers to build the solution for the requester
  • A quality mind-set, and a focus on maintaining a high level of availability and ensuring stable services
  • Strong interpersonal skills. As you will be communicating with many parts of the organisation, it is very important that you are able to navigate between communication on various levels of abstraction
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload appropriately
  • Result oriented
  • Fluent English both in speaking and writing
  • Ability to travel abroad
