Virtualization platform engineer (vSphere) (2nd or 3rd line support)

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for installation and configuration of Virtualization Platform and its related components and integration points, based on Solution Architect or approved design.
• Understands low-level tools, techniques, software, hardware, programming languages and third party tools/libraries applicable to the success of the final solution.
• Engineering and development of scripts, binaries and policies that meet the requirements of the project scope and as per design of the Solutions Architect.
• Responsible for escalation and 3rd level support of Virtualization Platform issues to POD Operational teams.
• Participate in re-engineering of existing client applications.
• Strong writing skills that lead to clear, concise, and unambiguous technical and non-technical documentation including requirements, infrastructure design documentation, user guides, etc.

• Proven track record with 2-5 years Virtualization platform support experience in a consultative role in a customer environment with experience at the enterprise level.
• Experience in shell scripting on windows and Unix operating systems.
• Flexible, continuous learner and knowledge sharer, excellent communicator, works well in team environment, appreciates challenge, comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare vSphere 4.x, 5.x, ESX and vCenter.
• Strong analytic ability especially the ability to look at complex technical landscapes and recommend key business focused solutions.
• Fluency in English.
• Team player and customer service driven.
• Experience with powershell scripting language - is a plus.
